Shiny Things is a jewelry pop-up exhibition and sale held in the Kendall Reiss Gallery in Bristol, Rhode Island. When Kendall Reiss (owner of Kendall Reiss Gallery and founder of Shiny Things) reached out regarding the re-brand of Shiny Things, she wanted it to feel like a bold, fun, playful party that would welcome people back to in-person events after the tough pandemic years, while showcasing what makes the artists of Shiny Things sparkle.
For this year, we wanted to come back with just as much energy and excitement as 2023, but with a fresh perspective, artists and ideas. 2024 is about exploration and taking a closer look to see what makes each jewelry artwork special.
We created a playful campaign that is inclusive of all kinds of jewelry and body adornment, celebrating the craft through a flexible system of lines and textures that reflect the fluid nature of metal smithing and jewelry-making. Textures and zoomed in details of the work are highlighted and showcase what makes the artists of Shiny Things sparkle, reminding us that jewelry transcends the white cube, inviting us to touch, wear and exhibit the art on the body.
